Sketch a line and let the road fill in the rest
I’ve been putting together the rough shape of a trip for quite some while now. Just the beginnings of it, really. A few squiggly lines on the map, one for each day, like chapters waiting to be written. Nothing fixed; I’ve learned not to make promises the road might refuse to keep. Still, there’s something grounding about having a plan, even if it’s just to have one. I’ll follow the path as best I can, though I expect it to shift under me as these things tend to do. What I’ve laid out so far is a kind of hopeful structure: day-by-day routes, each with its own small ambition, traced in pencil rather than ink.
It’s not the destination I’m after, it’s what might happen along the way.

With all that flowery writing out of the way, this post is mostly intended to act as a sort of home page for my upcoming trip. If I can get the programing to work the way I intend it to, each day should (and should is always the magic word) lead to it’s own post. Starting out, each day will just be the planning stages, a rough idea of what I plan to do each day, along with a map of my intended route. Of course, all subject to change.
For now, this is just a draft. I am also attempting to use it as a way to allow interested parties can keep track of my goings on, and more importantly have a better idea of where I am if things go wrong. I always have an emergency beacon/satellite communicator on me, but if it comes to it, these rough plans should help find me. At the very least, I hope it’ll act as peace of mind.
